Day 14322 - The Mentally Unhealthy

Being an advocate for, and proponent of mental health.. doesn’t make one mentally healthy. Sometimes the best thing someone can do is be empathic. Understanding.. or the belief or understanding of what others “need” at the cost of ones self is.. ok let’s be honest. is… a lot to take in.

The lines between being “selfish” and the want of what’s best for others is blurry. But we have to try. Even if we fall short due to our own limitations.

The “selfish” want is that someone can do better with your assistance. Your help. The essence of you being imbued, reflected and molded onto another. That falls short because.. you to want to benefit from this experience as much as you want others too. A human experience. But a selfish one.

The wanting of what’s best for someone is simply that… knowing and believing that someone can do better for themselves. Realizing their potential, regardless of you.

Nothing is ever so black and white. Especially when experiences fall short of expectations. All anyone can do is.. learn from them. In every regard. And that hopefully leads to being more mentally healthy.
